Beyond teaching and research, I enjoy many other pursuits. Having grown up in Massachusetts, not too far from White Mountain National Forest, I fell in love with the outdoors, especially the mountains. So it was easy to transition to Durango, Colorado since it offers views like this one atop Wilson Peak, one of Colorado’s 58 14ers.
Since my time in Massachusetts, I’ve become an avid backpacker and hiker and have lead outdoor trips for what was once my local Appalachian Mountain Club. Some of my other interests include playing blues guitar, recording music, and reading and writing poetry.
